s.edition (s for silence)

Silence in the political sense: not speaking out, shutting up, accepting what the government does; or maybe in the Cagean sense: there is no such thing as silence. Three separate installations, one each week, presented by members of the undue noise collective, using sound, images and more..

ECO cycle

by jason waters

ECO cycle will be a wash of sound and words which will have an affiliation/association with the issues of global warming and the government’s attempt (successful) to silence the critics and the alternative energy industry. Along with the sounds of ECO cycle there will be representations of endangered and extinct bird species associated with the Box Ironbark forests of Central Victoria. Participates will put their entire head into the washing machine to hear the ECO cycle sounds, giving the participant a sense of seclusion in a clinical sparse metallic space.

week 3 (june 15-17, 10am-4pm)
opening Friday June 16 @ 7pm

a collision of silence

by mathew underwood, maree mclachlan and paul fletcher

A silent collaboration and collusion between Image, Motion, Sound, Interactivitiy. With contributions from sound artist Mathew Underwood, photographer Maree McLachlan and video artist/animator Paul Fletcher. Inspired by the deafening silence of ideas and the deathly silence of no ideas; a response to silence in many forms from silent social controls, local and global, to the silence of apathy, the loss of silence and the breaking of silence.

there will be an undue noise performance at Dudley House (View St, Bendigo) on the last day of the installation (sat june 17)
