THE LABEL

cajid media is an Australian label for promoting experimental music / sound art / exploratory music made by Australian artists. It was founded in 2004 by Jacques & Fran Soddell in Bendigo, a regional city north of Melbourne, in collaboration with their sound artist daughter, Thembi Soddell. After releasing 9 albums by emerging Australian sound artists,  the label took a pause for a few years, but is now planning a release by label founder Jacques Soddell.

Since 2002 Jacques has curated a live concert series in Central Victoria, called undue noise, and from 1883 to 2013 presented a weekly radio program, possible musics on local community radio. Fran’s interests include computer graphics and algorithmic music, especially using Lindenmayer Systems. Jacques & Fran make fungal music together.
